Zack MacEwen Felled Logan Stanley [Fight]

Zack MacEwen Logan Stanley nhl hockey fight

Zack MacEwen felled the giant Redwood that is Logan Stanley, with 1:44 left to play in the first period of the Canucks - Jets game Wednesday night.

Logan Stanley racked up his first NHL career fight when he asked Zack MacEwen to dance in the final minutes of the first. Stanley came in hot to lay a hit on MacEwen, behind the Jets net, but MacEwen shrugged him off into the boards. Realizing he looked like a fool, he challenged MacEwen. MacEwen responded by ducking everything but the kitchen sink and then, feeding him jabs till he caught him with a left that made him go; timber!

However, Andrew Copp was the real one man wrecking machine when he stole the game by scoring a career-high four goals.

Copp scored his first goal at 5:53 of the second period deflecting a Neal Pionk shot in during a power play, too many men on the ice, and putting the Jets on the board first. Then, at the 10:50 mark, he knocked in a rebound at the crease on another power play, for, again, too many men on the ice, make it 2-0 Jets.

After Copp tallied two power play goals, Mark Scheifele made it 3-0 Jets, with 1:47 left in the second period.

Andrew Copp was far from finished though.

Copp lit the lamp again, when he drained one, from end-to-end, into an empty net with 4:10 left to play in the third. This marked his first NHL hat trick and made it 4-0 Jets.

Lastly, Copp put the Jets up 5-0 with 2:26 left on the clock with a rebound shot for his first four goal career game.

Connor Hellebuyck was en route to a second shutout, but Nils Hoglander scored with 1:25 left to end his journey. The Canucks took consecutive penalties for too many men on the ice, and the Jets scored on both power plays for a 2-0 lead.

The Vancouver Canucks fell to the Winnipeg Jets 5-1.
