Ryan Reaves went from stick taps to ball taps late in the third period when Sharks' Kurtis Gabriel caught him square in the "Jack Johnson" with his right skate blade.

The Golden Knights had a 4-2 lead over the Sharks early in the third period, but almost blew it with 1:07 left in regulation after Brent Burns' clear attempt bounced toward goalie Oscar Dansk (Fleury had the night off) as Kevin Labanc came rushing toward him. Dansk tried to knock the puck away, but didn't make clean contact and it hit off Labanc's stick and went into the open net to tie the game.

When Alex Tuch scored, the following faceoff saw Reaves and Gabriel square up and drop the gloves. Reaves and Kurtis Gabriel exchanged blows back and forth, but Reaves managed a huge overhand right that caught Gabriel cleanly in the left cheek.

Max Pacioretty scored his second goal of the game in overtime and the Vegas Golden Knights recovered to beat the San Jose Sharks 5-4 on Friday night. Pacioretty converted off a pass from Alex Pietrangelo to beat Devan Dubnyk 1:25 into overtime for his third OT goal of the season.
