Matthew Tkachuk Gives Justin Holl The Okie-Doke [Fight]
Matthew Tkachuk threw Justin Holl for a loop when the two dropped their gloves to fight, but Tkachuk skated towards center ice, did a U-turn and then came in for the fight as Holl was picking up his gloves.
The fight was sparked when Justin Holl smathered Johnny Gaudreau all over the boards midway through the second with a huge hit. Juuso Valimaki felt he need to respond, however the hit was clean and Valimaki got sent off for roughing.Three minutes after the hit we would see Holl drop the gloves with Tkachuk in a bizarre scrap.
Holl was first to drop his gloves, then Tkachuk followed suit and skated towards center ice. Holl didn't follow and went back to pick up his gloves, but Tkachuk quickly skated back and engaged Holl. It seemed that Holl was slightly confused and didn't know if Tkachuk was running away or not.
The fight was pretty much one sided, with Tkachuk landing the majority of the hits and capping it with the take down. Even though it wasn't the roughest of fisticuffs, it was enough to spark the Flames and drive them to the win.
Matthew Tkachuk, Derek Ryan and Christopher Tanev scored for the Flames, but it was Mark Giordano who broke the tie and delivered the win.
Mitch Marner, Jason Spezza and Alexander Kerfoot scored for the Maple Leafs.
The Calgary Flames beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 on Friday.
