Nicolas Deslauriers and Ryan Reaves closed out the first period of The Vegas Golden Knights - Anaheim Ducks game with a brawl at center ice.

With 1:00 minute left on the clock Reaves and Deslauriers starting chucking bombs and swinging for the fences. Unlike previous fights, this one didn't end quickly for Reaves. Surprisingly, Deslauriers was more than capable of holding his own against the grizzled vet. They each exchanged blows, but Deslauriers had some nice head shots and manged to send Reaves down to the ice, which is a sight that is rarely seen.

Chandler Stephenson opened the scoring for the Golden Knights when he potted one at 10:56 in the first. Mark Stone picked up the primary assist, giving him his 400th career point and Dylan Coghlan claimed the first point of his career when he fed Stone the puck.

The first period was coming to a close and with 1:08 left on the clock Reilly Smith attempted a centering pass from the circle that kicked off Jonathan Marchessault's skate and into the net.

Alex Tuch put another one on the board for the Golden Knights just 2:00 minutes into the second period, roofing a back-hander over Ryan Miller with a feed from Cody Glass to make it 3-0.

The Ducks got on the board just 60 seconds after Tuch's goal by way of Isac Lundestrom. As the second period was coming to a close the Golden Knights struck again. Nicolas Roy with a laser wrist-shot from the top of the right circle put the knights up 4-1. Glass picked up another assist on the goal giving him six points in six games. Shea Theodore grabbed the secondary assist.

Now this is where the Golden Knights almost blow the game.

The third period of play saw the (Mighty) Ducks come out hot. Starting the full frontal assault on the Golden Knights was Troy Terry with an assist from Hampus Lindholm and Kevin Shattenkirk.

A mere 2 minutes later and Adam Henrique potted one in the back of the net with an assist from Troy Terry putting the Ducks within one.  It didn't take long, another 3 minutes passed, and the Ducks had scored again on a power play. Ryan Getzlaf netted the tying goal with assists from Kevin Shattenkirk and Rickard Rakell.

It really looked like the Golden Knights were going to lose this in spectacular fashion, but...

With 3 minutes left to play in the third period Zach Whitecloud managed to find the back of the net with assists from William Carrier and Chandler Stephenson. After that it was just all defense to kill those final minutes.

The Vegas Golden Knight defeated the (Mighty) Ducks of Anaheim 5-4.
