Kyle Clifford Challenges Ryan Getzlaf [Fight]
Kyle Clifford looked to provide a spark for the Blues Saturday when he challenged Ducks' Ryan Getzlaf just three minutes into the first period.
Hoping to make up for their inconsistent start to the season, the (Mighty) Ducks looked to set a strong tempo right out of the gate. However, this wouldn't be the case.
Jordan Kyrou scored two of the Blues' three goals in the opening 2:06, Kyrou scored 20 seconds after the opening faceoff, and after Sanford added his goal inside the opening minute, Kyrou made it 3-0 and chased John Gibson with a breakaway.
Gibson skated swiftly to the bench and up the tunnel after Kyrou scored his second goal, coming from a lackluster defensive resistance. Gibson, again, has been the Ducks' best player this season, posting two shutouts even while his teammates scored only 12 goals in their first seven games.
David Perron, Kyle Clifford and Vince Dunn scored later as the Blues won back-to-back games for the first time this season. They hadn't played in four days after their game at Vegas on Thursday night was postponed.
Max Jones potted the lone goal for Anaheim, which has lost two straight.
After Gibson gave up 3 goals on 6 shots, Ryan Miller came in and made 21 saves, but gave up another 3 goals.
The (Mighty) Ducks lost 6-1 to the St. Louis Blues.
