Joel Edmundson Destroys Tyler Myers For Joel Armia Hit [fight]
The fists were flying in Vancouver when Joel Edmundson told Tyler Myers his dance card had just been punched. The two engaged at center ice only three minutes into the first period, because Myers laid a hit on Joel Armia in the previous match-up that put the forward out indefinitely with a concussion.
Right from the jump it was evident that Edmundson was not going to lose this fight. He had a look of tenacity in his eyes that was so apparent that even the linesmen knew not to step in until he said so. Once Edmundson had Myers pinned in front of the Canucks' bench he let a left hand fly that had Myers seeing stars.
After that hit everyone knew that justice had been served and the two went to the box of shame to sit for five. And, to put a cherry on top, Edmundson scored a third period goal as Montreal went back on top for the remainder of the game.
The Canadiens took two of the three games against the Canucks and have won four of their last five overall.
Perry, who was activated to take the place of Armia, scored at 11:42 of the second period during a three-on-one rush. That goal gave him his 373rd of his career, who just a day before was relegated to the Canadiens' taxi squad.
