Dougie Hamilton and Sam Gagner Drop The Gloves [Fight]

 

The Carolina Hurricanes beat Detroit 3-0 Thursday night in Little Caesars Arena to kick off the season in the win column, but the real surprise of the night was Dougie Hamilton dropping the gloves.

The Canes Nino Niederreiter opened the scoring with a follow-up goal from Ryan Dzingel and to close it out an empty netter from Andrei Svechnikov. Carolina out-shot Detroit 43-14.

The Canes were hitting hard right out the gate. They Finished the game with 27-19 in the hit column. Dougie Hamilton and Brady Skjei all finished with multiple hits, with Skjei delivering a crushing blow early in the first period.

Hamilton  made Gagner answer the bell after Staal was blasted with a big hit by the Canes Bench. While the fight might not have went the way Hamilton thought it would it was nice to see that he was quick to get in there for his teammate.
