Capitals' Brendan Leipsic Leaked Instagram Chat
Brendan Leipsic is hilarious, but it seems a lot of people don't agree with that assessment after a private Instagram chat was made public on the 6th of May.
Leipsic and AHL Springfield Thunderbirds' forward Jack Rodewald were part of a private group chat that was hacked and leaked for all to see. In the chat Leipsic cuts jokes on Tanner Pearsons' wife's weight, his linemates being total losers for doing the Washington Capitals podcast, Between Two Blue Lines, cuts up on Tom Wilson and even Connor McDavid's girlfriend. The thread goes on about random girls on Instagram and jokes about their weight.
The NHL, being an upstanding organization and pillar of social decency, was quick to release a statement on the situation since they have so much free time to kill:
"The National Hockey League strongly condemns the misogynistic and reprehensible remarks made by players Brendan Leipsic and Jack Rodewald in a private group chat that has surfaced on social media. There is no place in our League for such statements, attitudes and behavior, no matter the forum. We will address this inexcusable conduct with the clubs and players involved."
It is nice that the NHL had the time to put out such a stern and Heart-Felt statement, but this "situation" is none of their business and, frankly, is illegally obtained banter between friends in private. However, one of the messages does see Leipsic brag about rippin rails off this one girls countertop (that means snorting cocaine). But he never says when the rail rippin happened so he could have wiggle room on that issue with the league.
