Wheeling Nailers and Utah Grizzlies Donnybrook [Fight]
With nine seconds left in the third period of Sunday's Nailers - Grizzlies game all hell broke loose when everyone on the ice dropped their gloves and had a classic donnybrook; this included goaltenders François Brassard and Kevin Carr.
The Nailers potted four in the first period when they defeated the Utah Grizzlies, 6-1.
Three of the four goals came on the power play, when Nick Rivera tipped in a one-timer by Cody Sylvester. Austin Fyten netted the second with a man advantage, as he tipped in a wrister from Aaron Thow. The only even strength goal for the Nailers went to Vladislav Mikhalchuk, who went top-shelf with a snapper. Rivera then collected his second of the day by knocking in the rebound of another Cody Sylvester shot.
The Nailers maintained their four-goal lead in the second period, but A.J. White gave Utah its lone goal of the night during a power play, as he redirected Riley Woods' feed on the left side of the crease. Wheeling's answer came courtesy of Matt Miller, who drilled in a wrist shot from the slot.
The highlight of the night came in the third period when a full line brawl broke out in the Grizzlies' zone. Goaltenders François Brassard and Kevin Carr, not wanting to be left out, decided to join in on the fun. Brassard walked away the clear winner as he delivered three straight uppercuts to Carr.
Vladislav Mikhalchuk also completed his Gordie Howe Hat Trick thanks to the donnybrook.
