Dakota Joshua Drills Ryan Reaves and Scraps With Keegan Kolesar [Fight]

 

Dakota Joshua drilled Ryan Reaves with a beautiful textbook check and then answered the bell against Keegan Kolesar for his first NHL career fight.

With 10:00 gone in the first period of the Blues - Golden Knights game, Ryan Reaves enter his zone trying to clear the puck out. Reaves managed to collect it it for .1 seconds only to be met by Dakota Joshua who dropped him on his wallet like a ton of bricks.

Keegan Kolesar was trailing during the play, saw the clean, hard hit and decided that this was his opening to challenge the rookie. Joushua was quick to respond and the two started to dance. It was back and forth with each guy trying to land a haymaker, but Kolesar fell to the ice. Joshua could have drilled him because he was getting back up, but the linesmen broke it up before it could get any hotter.

 Mark Stone scored two goals, and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 34 of 35 shots.

The Golden Knights got out to an early lead with a snapshot from Shea Theodore that went post and in. The goal came on the first shot of the game for either team and was assisted by William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault.

Stone ripped one past Husso in the first half of the second period and was assisted by Max Pacioretty and Theodore.

Sammy Blais cut the Vegas lead back to one, scoring the Blues lone gosl of the night, but Vegas made regained the lead a few minutes later when Pacioretty buried a snapper that went stick-side, off the post and in. Then, Chandler Stephenson made a strong play along the boards before feeding the puck to Pacioretty, who made it a 3-1 game.

Shortly after a penalty kill, Stone got another goal on a backhanded wraparound shot. The goal was assisted by Pacioretty and was the first line’s third goal of the period.

The Blues got the extra skater out with around four minutes to go, but Tuch sealed the game with an empty-netter with around 30 seconds left in regulation.

The Vegas Golden Knights beat the St. Louis Blues 5-1.
