Sorry Avs Fans No Televised Games For You

Avs

In Denver you can not watch a Colorado Avalanche game on NBC because it is blacked out. That was a huge problem during the season, but with the pause most fans thought that this situation would be straightened out. That, however, is not the case.

Some how the Avs signed a deal with a channel called Altitude Sports, a channel that can only be found on DirecTV, and they have the rights to the regular season and the first three games of the Stanley Cup qualifying rounds. That means if you have Comcast or Dish Network your are S.O.L.

The schedule is as follows for the qualifying rounds:

Avs vs St. Louis Blues on August 2nd 3:30pm
Avs vs Dallas Stars on August 5th 4:30pm
Avs vs Vegas Knights on August TBD

BUT unless you have the shitty DirecTV with that Altitude Sports channel, then that info does you no good. However, if one was to go to google and look for NHL Streams and have AD Blocker running they should be able to see the team they love no matter who provides their TV signal.

Here is the press release from Altitude Sports:

Altitude Sports announced today that it will broadcast all three of the Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup Qualifiers games when the NHL season resumes on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020. Altitude's coverage of the round-robin games begins Sunday, Aug. 2 at 3:30 p.m. MDT, as the Avalanche take on the St. Louis Blues. In addition, Altitude will provide coverage of the team's exhibition game prior to the start of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers against the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday, July 29 at 12 p.m. MDT.

The tournament is scheduled to begin on Aug. 1 with 24 teams competing in the Stanley Cup Qualifiers. The 12 participating Eastern Conference teams will play in Toronto, while the 12 participating Western Conference teams will compete in Edmonton. The 2020 Stanley Cup Qualifiers will feature the top four teams from each conference, referred to as the round-robin games, playing one another to determine seeding in the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Altitude is continuing to negotiate carriage deals with both Comcast and DISH Network. At this time, you can find Altitude available on DIRECTV, Charter Communications and other cable providers in a 10-state region that includes; Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, South Dakota, Wyoming and Utah.
